Shelter Supervisor/Executive Director
Job Description:
Child Care Worker I and Child Care Worker II (36 to 40 hours), Part-time Child Care Workers (24 to 36 hours), Relief Child Care Workers (less than 24 hours) will provide/coordinate supervision/custodial care of Emergency Shelter Home clients, including but not limited to client admission/dismissals, required agency record keeping, client management, coordination/implementation of treatment plan services, including provision of nutritious meals, adequate supervision, provision of health services, recreational services, educational services and counseling services.
DUTIES:
1.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for creating a pleasant, warm, accepting environment in the delivery of agency services to the public, clients, families, agencies, civic groups and organizations requesting WPYFS, Inc.
assistance.
2.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for the successful data entry complete record keeping as to client files concerning admission/dismissals of shelter clients, and in assisting referring agencies/individuals and/or guardians with intake procedures/processing/ orientation during admissions and dismissals.
3.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for instructing new shelter clients as to rules/guidelines concerning client conduct while residing at WPYFS, Inc.
shelter facility (Social Grading Scale, etc.
).
4.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for assisting residents with proper personal hygiene, grooming, and/or health related issues, including appropriate social behavior while client resides at WPYFS, Inc.
Emergency Shelter facility.
5.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for the coordination of client services as indicated on individualized treatment plan including appropriate/adequate supervision of Shelter clients during assigned shifts such as client activities/services including meal preparation, chores, phone calls, visitation, shelter recreation activities, health services, and bedtime checks.
6.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for assisting/coordinating/providing transportation to Emergency Shelter facility clients to and from school, work, and program activities within the local community.
7.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for being on 24-hour monitoring/supervision of residential clients as to safety/security issues, including random spot checks of clients' sleeping quarters, bathrooms and/or personal items.
8.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for securing, maintaining, updating and filing of residential case files, program records, progress notes and all other pertinent data while client resides in the Emergency Shelter facility.
9.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for accurate charting of medications for clients including non- prescription/prescription, and for adequate monitoring and securing of client medications.
CCW will be responsible for following agency procedures while dispensing medications to Shelter clients.
10.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for orientation/monitoring of Behavior Modification/Social Grading Scale to residential clients and will be responsible for continuing to reinforce Social Grading Scale/privileges ad incentive for appropriate client behavior.
11.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for notification of school transportation department as to Shelter clients needing transportation to and from school while client resides at WPYFS, Inc.

Child Care Worker will be responsible for reporting/recording any injuries and/or unusual incidences pertaining c:

staff/clients including but not limited to description of injury, time incident occurred and/or procedures taken as to issues.
13.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for assisting in providing services to residents based on their individualized treatment plan established and guided by the Shelter Counselor and in accordance with DHS worker when applicable.
14.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for preparing, serving and recording menus and marking all food containers with incoming date.
This includes donated food items and in addition, CCW will be responsible for compliance of daily Shelter menu schedule.
15.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for notifying Shelter Supervisor and recording list for needed Shelter items.
16.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for purchasing of Shelter items for Emergency Shelter facility when designated and/or assigned by Shelter Supervisor.
17.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for performing and/or coordinating housekeeping duties as designated by Shelter Supervisor.
18.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for recording any donations received at Emergency Shelter facility and in providing donation information to Program Director.
19.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for recording all Emergency Shelter telephone calls and visitations to Shelter residents and will be responsible for monitoring and/or securing client information from public scrutiny and will screen all telephone calls during assigned shift.
20.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for maintaining information and referral log during assigned shift.
21.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for maintaining accurate time sheets and turning in employee time sheets as required for payroll processing.
22.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for attending WPYFS, Inc.
scheduled staff meetings/training unless emergency arises at which time CCW I will coordinate with Shelter Supervisor/Program Director for training required/missed.
23.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for attending required number of training workshops for CCW's as required by State licensing agencies/OAYS/Peer Review, WPYFS, Inc.
criteria.
24.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for assisting with other duties as assigned by Shelter Supervisor in order to effectively carry out the daily services/functions of WPYFS, Inc.
organization.
25.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for reporting/submitting and receiving approval from Shelter Supervisor as to requests for leave.
Requests should be turned in at least one month prior to scheduled leave and, in addition, emergency and/or sick leave need to be reported at earliest possible date to allow for adequate coverage of Emergency Shelter clients.
26.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for immediate notification of local police department, appropriate DHS staff/parents/guardian/WPYFS, Inc.
on-call person as to client leaving Shelter facility without staff approval/supervision (runaways).
27.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for successfully completing employee orientation/application processing within thirty (30) days following initiation of services.
28.
Child Care Worker will be responsible for successfully complying with activity schedule for Emergency Shelter facility clients and will make every effort to ensure ongoing client activities and/or modifications of client activities on a daily basis.
29.
Child Care Worker will call, all on call when needed for admittance.
30.
Child Care Worker II will be on call on a rotating basis.
31.
Child Care Workers will come to work for emergencies due to illness or absence of staff at Emergency Home Facility.
PREFERRED
Qualifications:
1.
Child Care Worker applicant must have high school diploma from accredited high school or GED, be 21 years of age.
2.
Child Care Worker applicant should have a post secondary training/education specializing in child related services.
3.
Child Care Worker applicant must have three (3) years previous vocational related experience in Social Work/Child Care Services/related vocational areas.
4.
Child Care Worker applicant should be State certified as child care worker for OAYS Emergency Shelter facility.
5.
Child Care Worker applicant must maintain certification in CPR/First Aid as to State agency/OAYS/Peer Review criteria.
6.
Child Care Worker must complete 24 hours training annually.
7.
Child Care Worker applicant must have three (3) written references from prior employers/business associates as to qualifications in job related skills.
8.
Child Care Worker applicant must agree to a thorough criminal background check.
9.
Child Care Worker applicant must have a current copy of insurance verification and driver's license.
A copy of these must be on file in our office.
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
1.
Child Care Worker applicant must be have High School diploma or GED, be 21 years of age.
2.
Child Care Worker applicant must have three (3) written references from prior employers/business associates as to qualifications in job related skills.
3.
Child Care Worker applicant must pass and maintain certification in American Red Cross (CPR and First Aid course).
4.
Child Care Worker must complete 24 hours training annually if full-time, 12 hours if part-time or a percentage based upon hours worked per week.
5.
Child Care Worker applicant must maintain certification in CPR/First Aid as to State agency/OAYS/Peer Review criteria.
6.
Child Care Worker applicant must agree to a thorough criminal background check.
7.
Child Care Worker applicant must have a current copy of insurance verification and driver's license.
